T-BIRDS ACQUIRE AUSTIN BAECKER FROM LETHBRIDGE
Seattle sends 6th round draft pick to the Hurricanes
KENT — Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced the team has acquired defenseman Austin Baecker from the Lethbridge Hurricanes for a conditional sixth round selection in the 2011 Bantam Draft.
Baecker, a 17-year-old from Kelowna, is currently playing with the Merritt Centennials of the BCHL. Baecker has appeared in 25 games and has one assist and 29 penalty minutes.
Baecker, selected by the Hurricanes in the 11th round of the 2007 Bantam Draft, will finish out the season with the Centennials.
The T-Birds next game is Friday, February 5, in Portland as the team takes on the Winterhawks at 7:30 p.m. This game will be broadcast on FSN. The T-Birds will host the Winterhawks on Saturday, February 6, at 7:05 p.m. at ShoWare Center.
T-Birds single game tickets for the 2009-10 season are available online at the
T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.
