T-Birds Thank Fans For Contributing To Lakewood Police Independent Guild

T-BIRDS THANK FANS FOR CONTRIBUTING TO LAKEWOOD POLICE INDEPENDENT GUILD
Preliminary count of money raised is over $10,000

KENTThe Seattle Thunderbirds extends a heartfelt thank you to their fans for contributing to the Lakewood Police Independent Guild on Saturday night at the game against the Everett Silvertips.

Lt. Ken Thomas of the Kent Police Department informed T-Birds Public Relations Director Ian Henry that after the game on Saturday the Guild Finance department had started a count of the money raised. At the time Lt. Thomas talked to the Guild they had only counted the $20 dollar bills. The total of number of $20 dollar bills that T-Birds fans donated came to $8,000.

The Guild felt that they would easily go over $10,000 in donations from the T-Birds fans at the Saturday game after counting the lower and higher denomination bills and all checks.

“This is an unbelievably awesome showing by our fans,” said Henry. “We are so thankful that our fans opened up their wallets and helped the families of the slain Lakewood officers.”

The T-Birds will be holding a fundraiser for the Guild on Wednesday, December 9, through a 12-hour sale of tickets to the game on Friday, December 11, against the Tri-City Americans. The T-Birds will donate 100% of the revenue from tickets sold online from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday to the Guild.

To support the Guild fans should go to the T-Birds website on Wednesday and click on the Lakewood Police banner on the top of the home page to order tickets.
