KENT — Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell this afternoon announced the team has acquired defenseman Erik Bonsor from the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for a sixth round selection in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft.
Bonsor, at 6’1 and 200 pounds, is an 18-year-old defenseman who was selected by the Hitmen in the fourth round, 75th overall, in the 2006 Bantam Draft. In his second season in the WHL, he has three assists and 20 penalty minutes in 26 games with the Hitmen this year. Bonsor had two goals and nine assists in 51 games with the Hitmen last season.
