T-Birds Acquire Stefan Burzan From Blades

T-BIRDS ACQUIRE STEFAN BURZAN FROM BLADES
Seattle sends Jeremy Boyer to Saskatoon
KENTSeattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced the team has acquired center Stefan Burzan and a third round pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft from the Saskatoon Blades for Jeremy Boyer.

Burzan appeared in two preseason games with the Blades this year and had one point, on an assist, with no penalty minutes.

“We had to move ahead on this trade to preserve this player’s value to our team,” said Farwell. “I am very happy with the value we got in return because both Burzan and the draft pick could be good players for us in the future.  We are still dealing with the surprise of not having Boyer on our team but we are happy to have this behind us and will move on from here.”

Burzan, from Surrey, British Columbia, was originally drafted by the Blades in the sixth round of the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft. Burzan is a right handed shot who was born July 3, 1994 and played for the Bantam AAA Surrey Thunder last season.

The T-Birds next game is Friday, October 2, against the Tri-City Americans at 7:35 p.m. a ShoWare Center.

T-Birds single game tickets for the 2009-10 season are available online on the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office.
