Skate with the Players
On Monday, November 26, the Seattle Thunderbirds had a “Skate With The Players” event at the Group Health Ice Arena at Bellevue Downtown Park. The players skated for two hours with fans of all ages. “Shoot The Puck” Ceremony For New Kent Events Center
The City of Kent held a “Shoot The Puck Ceremony” at the site of the Kent Events Center on Tuesday, September 25, at 8 a.m. Washington Governor Christine Gregoire joined Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke, the Kent City Council, State Senators Claudia Kauffman and Karen Keiser, State Representatives Pat Sullivan, Dave Upthegrove and Shay Schual-Berke and King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn in shooting the ceremonial first pucks at the future home of the T-Birds. Mayor Cooke and T-Birds General Manager Russ Farwell also unveiled an artists rendering of the Kent Events Center. For a slideshow of this exciting ceremony [click here].
Kent City Council Meeting
Cool Bird was at the Kent City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 18, to issue Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke and the Kent City Council with official T-Birds jerseys. The Mayor and City Council will be wearing the jerseys at the "Shoot The Puck" Ceremony on Tuesday, September 25, from 8 to 9 a.m. at the future site of the Kent Events Center, on West James Street and Fifth Avenue North in Kent. Joining the Kent officials will be Governor Christine Gregoire and several state senators and representatives. City of Kent employees Barbecue
Cool Bird was at the City of Kent employees barbecue hosted by Kent Mayor Suzette Cook on Thursday, September 13, at Kent City Hall. The City of Kent has 850 city employees and every year the mayor hosts a barbecue for them. City officials estimated over 700 of the cities employees made the barbecue this year. Cool Bird interacted with employees from numerous divisions of the city government. He was also introduced by Mayor Cooke as one of the new employees of the city. 2007 Kent Cornucopia Days
The Seattle Thunderbirds Street Team was thrilled to take part in the annual Kent Cornucopia Days on July 13, 14 and 15. This great event gave the T-Birds a chance to say hello to the Kent community and to express their excitement about the move to Kent in 2008. The Street Team had the puck shoot booth operating as well as an information tent that provided the latest news about the Kent Event Center. Everett AquaSox Mascot Mania

2007 Bafflegab Seafair Milk Carton Derby
The Thunderbirds Street Team took part in the Team Challenge at the 2007 Bafflegab Seafair Milk Carton Derby at Green Lake on Saturday, July 7. The Street Team was looking to defend their title from the 2006 Milk Carton Derby. The Street Team this year competed against teams from the Seattle Fire Department, Coast Guard, Allstate, Organic Valley, Sonics-Storm, Trashbusters and Seafair in the Team Challenge. In the Team Challenge teams have 45 minutes to build a boat from 300 half-gallon milk cartons and wood that is provided. The Street Team came in 5th place in this year’s Derby, beating the Coast Guard, Seattle Fire Department and the Sonics-Storm. 14th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
On Saturday, June 16, Cool Bird and the Seattle Thunderbirds Street Team traveled to Qwest Field to participate in the 14th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Cool Bird mingled and took photos with participants at the Survivors Breakfast and during the Survivors Parade. Fun was had by all and the event raised over 1.8 million dollars for breast cancer research. [Click to view images]
